Old Livestreams

In the bustling chaos of our lives, finding moments of peace can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. Amidst the hustle and bustle, we often seek calmness in the simple pleasures we can provide ourselves. For me, that came in the form of an unexpected source last night: an old livestream of Taylor Swift.

There's a certain magic in the melodies of Taylor Swift that transcends time and space. Her music has an uncanny ability to evoke a myriad of emotions, from nostalgia to empowerment, from heartache to hope. But beyond the lyrics and songs are her as a person, and nothing can make me more at ease than listening to her, whether it's speaking or singing. Last evening, in the end of a particularly stressful week, I stumbled upon an archived livestream of Taylor Swift from 2008. As I clicked play, I it was as if I had never seen it before (which I have).

Studying, I listened to her answering fan questions, introducing her cat and just talking! Note to self: do that more often. There was something inherently comforting about studying to Taylor Swift's livestream. Perhaps it was the sense of connection, knowing that at that very moment, countless others were also finding solace in the same melodies. Or perhaps it was the familiarity of her voice, the one I have grown up with as a little home. I've listened to it over car arguments, noises at school, nasty comments and the noise at the bus. I've listened to it all over the place when I was feeling stressed or happy or anything at all. Why has this become a fan blog lol?

Sincerely, Lenna

P.S. you can watch it here!
